Power of Attorney (PoA)

  • If general or special POA, clearly the sentence of “sale, purchase, mortgage and grant and all other transactions of properties in Dubai” must be mentioned
  • If POA is for the buyer from the seller, clearly in addition to the above, to be mentioned that the attorney can buy for himself/herself
  • In all cases the attorney can’t grant POA to others even if it is mentioned in the original POA
  • For the purpose of properties registration and all other transaction the POA is valid for only two years, if expire, POA must be renew from Notary Public or the issuance authority
  • A manager cheque of the purchased amount must be in the name of the seller and not in the name of the attorney regardless what is mentioned in the POA
  • POA must be in Arabic, if not, then must be Arabic legally translated and attested from Notary Public or relevant attestation authorities
  • A person less than 21 years old must obtain NOC from Dubai Courts or Minors Affairs Department in addition to the POA
